Default Recessed Power Button on 002 Rack

I have a Digi 002 at work and one at home. The work model is older, and the power button is recessed and has a bit of a downward angle to it. On the newer home unit the power button is flush with the opening and perfectly vertical. Both units work fine. I just wondered if the recessed power button was there by design on the older unit.

Thanks for any info.
