Default REVERB help still needed

I have been thinking about getting a Lex PMC 91 but it is pretty pricy ( man I wish bought them when they were much cheaper).

Some mentioned the plug Altiverb ,but I don't know if I want to spend 599 on a reverb plug....

Any other suggestion for good reverb plugs that work natively ?

There are several and the AltiVerb at %599 is much cheaper than the Lexicon. Plus you can use it several times, unlike a hardware box. You can likely get impulses of LExicon verbs that will put the sound of the Lexicon into AltiVerb. TL Space is another good one and buy buying the Music Production Toolkit for $499, you get a great verb plugin PLUS the bonus of up to 48 stereo audio tracks! Seems like a win win to me.

Cary,
I would look into TL SPACE if money is an issue. While I own a PCM90 and use it on my drums and a few other things, TL SPACE is amazing. I think that it is the best reverb plug I have heard in that range. REVERB ONE is the best as far as I have heard, but it is HD. Now, the PCM 90 is great and all. I buss and layer a lot of things and use it on all my mixes.

TL SPACE is sweet though, but somewhat of a memory hog.

Best,
Doc

Doc- did you mean ReVibe instead of ReverbOne? ReVibe is one of my fav 'verbs; wish they would make an RTAS ver...

To me, convo 'verbs are a different beast. Sure, they are great...but, still different. For convo, I htink the library make sor breaks the plug; TL and Altiverb would be my choices, in that order (currently own TL, and not Alti).

For non-convo, I would choose VSS3 next, and maybe suppliment it with Sony Oxford Reverb if I could not use ReVibe. (yes, I own all three)

I woud absolutely LOVE to have a sweet outboard box as well though...

Nikki, actually it was the Sony one, my bad.

Thanks for the catch. I prefer TL Space over all these days.

What you "need" is to do an audio course, or at least read the (very good) Reference Guide. Sorry to sound harsh but you don't even know how to "overdub on the same track" (punch-in or drop-in) or many other basic tasks. It seems like you're throwing alot of good money at esoteric pre-amps, lexicon reverbs etc when you really should be making the best of the (excellent) tools you already have at your disposal. Expert tools are for experts - develop your skills awhile before you invest in the expensive toys. Having said that, a good mixing engineer can make a fantastic mix using just the stock Digi plugins (including the underated D-verb). Sorry for the negative tone of this post but someone's got to call a spade a shovel.

I have to agree some on this one. Get a good book on Pro Tools, buy a DVD on it, just really dig into it and learn your craft. While 48 tracks are nice, I own it and have yet to reach it. Just leaves options, but still learn your tools first man.
