Default ProTools strange behavior

I have an audio interface 888/IO 24 and ProTools 4.3.2 software.
Whenever I have 2 audio channels, one left and another right then I set their respective output to bus 1-2,
Then I set the input of a stereo Aux to the same bus 1-2 ;
The pan slider on left side of stereo Aux is paned all the way to the left end;
The pan slider on right side of stereo Aux is paned all the way to the right end.
When playing back the music it happens that the left side of the stereo Aux does not receive the audio signal from the input bus 1-2 .
However the right side of stereo Aux receives the audio signal from the input bus 1-2.
To make the input signal from bus 1-2 go through the stereo Aux "I have to close the session and save it, then open it again.
It's only after the switch between close and open then ProTools recognizes my configuration.
Why this strange behavior.

Do you have d24 hardware?

This is a problem that appeared in Pro Tools 4.3.1 on d24 systems. It only occurs when working with the 24-bit Optimized Mixer.

Workarounds include:
1) Save, close, and reopen the session.
2) Use 16-bit Mixer 1.7.2 (included with PT 4.3.1)
3) Use 24-bit Mixer 1.7.1 (included with PT 4.3).

This has been fixed in Pro Tools v5.0
