Sound problems in ''record mode '' Eleven Rack + ProTools 8
I really need help please ..
I set everything as shown in the guide and DVD . When opening ProTools the Eleven Rack sounds as its supposed to .. When creating a new session I get no sound wich is normal .. After creating audio tracks and poping them ''ON'' or in ''record mode'' I still have a good normal sound . BUT NOW .. WHEN TRYING TO RECORD A TRACK AFTER CREATING A CLIC TRACK AND SETTING THE TEMPO... THE SOUNDS GETS REAL BAD (just a big buzz when playing the guitar .. the metronome sounds real bad ''not normal'' too) When listening what's been recorded it sounds also that bad. Somebody know what my problem is ??? Tnx for helping me please |

Windows or Mac? What version of OS?
What version of Pro Tools exactly? 8.0.1, 8.0.3, 8.0.4??? Which? Do you have 2 hard drives? Are you trying to record to your OS drive? Have you tried another USB port?

If you are using the USB cable that came with the 11R try to change it for another one, it solved the problem for me.
It's just fantastic that Avid ships this unit with such a bad USB cable. |

I have never had this problem. I'm running PT9 though and have had the same USB cable for nearly 2years. No port swapping or cable changing for me. I wonder where the problem could lie?

Re: Sound problems in ''record mode '' Eleven Rack + ProTools 8
Try the s/pdif if you have those cables and see if it's any difference, if it's better I bet the USB-cable/connection is bad.
You could run s/pdif with normal rca-cables of good quality and preferably 75 Ohm... |
