Default PT10 Volume Too Quiet

I'm having an odd issue…

I use an MBox Pro 2 as my interface and have done for a while with no issues. Tonight however, when I'm in Pro Tools, the MBox controls doesn't have any control over the volume. The playback is stupidly quiet yet if I try playing music from something else, i.e. iTunes, the MBox works fine with it and the volume can be controlled on the interface itself.

I've been playing around in Pro Tools trying to fix it for an hour now and haven't had any luck.

Any ideas?

Macbook Pro, Lion 10.7.5, Pro Tools 10, MBox Pro 2.

I would do the usual suspects

Default the i/O tabs
Double check the playback interface
And make sure you are routing the master fader to the main outs of the MB2Pro

Is the "Mix" knob set so you would hear the output of Pro Tools?
Otherwise you would hear the Input of the e.g. Mic attached, or just a quieter signal from the Out out of Pro Tools.
I don't know if this also explains, why you can monitor iTunes well though.

Is the MBox setup to be your computer playback device? If so I have experienced that the computer sound card volume will effect the output volume (like if you were not in pro tools and were listening to something and turned down the audio via OS controls... when you open PT it may still be set to that volume...

Try using the computer volume + and - and see if you can turn it up all the way.

Im not sure why the control pots are not functional unless your OS didnt release the controls to the hardware when you switched to PT.

Try setting the comp audio to internal speakers instead of MBox and reboot.

Good luck
