Jeez, let's go all the way and ask for some kind of (maybe step-by-step) package that would allow standard CD mastering, SACD mastering, and/or DVD-Audio mastering!

All of these should be supported by Digidesign, and it's appalling to me that they've let this part of the market -- the mastering business -- slide totally to their competitors like Sadie.

The best solution would be the ability to create a DDP disk image file. These are the Postscript files of the replication industry and some of the major labels are now requiring that mastering facilities provide them.

Yes, I bought Masterlist in 1999 and a fancy SCSI bruner that is already dead and I think it is a shame they buried Masterlist.

They require DDP because it's the internal file format used by virtually every replication plant. Avoiding a conversion from red book CD to a DDP file is avoiding one additional step that can easily get screwed up.
