Performance (RTAS) gain/loss in PT 7.0?
Hi there,
currently running PT 6.9 on Mac OS 10.3.9 and having found out that those two don't really match, I'm planing to upgrade both Mac OS to 10.4(.3) and PT to 7.0 However, having read some threads on this forum, it seems to be that the general thoughts of most people about PT 7.0 seems a loss of performance (instead of the increase anounced by digidesing in running, for example, more RTAS plugins). My question is double: I have an iBook G4, 1.33 Ghz, 768 MBRam, so no dual processor. I'm wondering if the advantage in running more plug-ins at the same time in PT7.0 also counts for computers with single processors, because in the software description by Digidesign about the new features in PT7.0, they only talk about "running more plug ins because making more efficiently use of dual processors")? And than the other question (more general): will I be better of running PT 7.0 on Mac OS 10.4 than I am now (of course I'll be better considering compatibility, but I'm talking about the performance of Pro Tools itself here). Thx! |

Re: Performance (RTAS) gain/loss in PT 7.0?
After I upgraded all my plugins (especially Waves), my performance improved noticeably - BUT I have a DP machine.
