CORRECTION! I can confirm this bug. I wasn't making it default with the favorites Icon. I was just loading a preset saved as default. So when I loaded VMR I loaded the Preset and when dragged to an insert it remains. I guess I'll keep doing it this way for now.

Phew!... thank god. I'm not going mad after all ... lol (no more than usual anyway )

Well, it's now been reported to Slate Support, along with this video... so hopefully have a little update soon

Thanks for checking it out though...

I'm just half thinking whether it's only Protools or not, haven't got another DAW to try it with.

So what I do as a work around is to reset the VMR favorite back to default and I set a preset in the Pro Tools plugin menu. When I load the first instance I load my preset and I can drag to other inserts and all setting remain. I guess Slates expectation for us possible VCC only user were you can just load VMR and VCC will automatically load is not going to work to well at this time until they fix this.

Ye, doing the same. Let's hope they fix it soon. Not heard anything from Slate support since I sent the issue and the video. Surprise surprise.

Why not just set the preset as user default, and then set VMR to use user default as plug-in default (all from the Pro Tools shell)?

It will load you user default when instantiating VMR, problem solved. This is what I do to avoid engaging the Analog function of waves plug-ins.

Ye, that's what I do, sorry, misread Zions post. It's a workaround for a problem that shouldn't be there though. Love the plug however.

Thanks! Didn't think about that! Works great.
