Default Need help with connector cards ,,

I have just got pro tools 9 and need to connect some apogee ad8000 ( and big ben ) to a mac 8 core .

I have been told either of these two cards will be able to do it ,

http://www.vintageking.com/Lynx-Stud...gy-Lynx-AES16e

http://www.vintageking.com/RME-HDSPe...category=81386

Does anyone know any benefits of either ?

The lynx is cheaper , though the RME says it has an onboard word clock i/o . Would I need that to connect to the big ben ?

Very grateful for any help!

Thanks ,

Brett Shaw

Re World Clock i/o Connectors the Lynx provides it via the optional BO cable and you need (2) of those for full 16i/o while the RME has it Onboard as you mention.

As far as i can remember re the BigBen,WC can be provided via the AES Connectors as well,
if you have (2) digital devices to operate as 'slaves' but you need to 'sacrifice' in a way an AES pair from each device.I would prefer the WC option

In Terms of drivers and GUI ease of use the RME,is a great card and much more flexible re signal routing and mixer software.
