Re: MBox 2 compatibility with Pro Tools 10
I'm having the same exact problem. I can hear YouTube output through mbox and all lights are on but can't find it in pro tools even after updating drivers and setting mbox as playback engine in setup in Pro Tools 10 HD. Noticed s/pdif light on mbox not lighting up and clock source in pro tools set up not letting me choose s/pdif keeps defaulting back to internal. Also noticed most updated mbox 2 drivers are for Windows 7 & 8 not 10 which is what I'm running. Mbox hooked to USB 3.0 please. Saw that holding on N while starting pro tools worked for someone but I'm on Windows's is there an equivalent? Or is there another solution??

Re: MBox 2 compatibility with Pro Tools 10
To Airbornab-way more info might help. Where did you download 10HD from(IOW, is it a legit copy). If its not(IOW, you don't need an iLok to run it) then uninstall and reconsider(no accusations, just hoping you didn't get ripped off). Some details when installing; ALWAYS install the driver first(link above titled Additional Resources will navigate you to the Legacy Products drive page). Then, when you install PT, always right-click on the setup icon and choose Run as Admin.
To Francisjstn-at least 2 things are working against you. #1-set Windows to NOT use the Mbox as the default playback device. #2-connect to a USB2 port. Holding the "N" key to select the audio engine is for both platforms. If you have no USB2 ports, you could try using a USB 2 hub, but no promises there. Random thoughts, getting the older 2nd generation Mboxes to work on Windows 10 can be a PITA(I know) but also CAN work(I had an Mbox 2 Pro working on Win 10 after a few days of fussing. If your Win10 is an upgrade from a previous 7 or 8 install, its best to remove PT if it was already installed on the old OS, and re-install(i had to anyway). Both you last 2 posters would likely be better off starting fresh threads and include info the rest of us need so we can offer advice. How do you know what info we need?
