Static in Audio/ProTools9 -win7 64
Hello anyone, I am desperately trying to get clear audio from Protools 9 under Windows 7 64.. I am not convinced its the fault of Avid, in fact I personally think its a Microsofts issue, but, after talking to them dozens of times, they don't agree with me. I have 3 sound cards on my PC all of which have varying amount of static. My DIGIRACK002 is by far the worse sounding thought. Every time I play multitrack recordings (that were recorded clearly under WIN XP) the WIN 7 play back has horrible static associated with the audio. I have removed/reinstalled dozens of times, even tried version 8.0.4 under win7, same thing! bad audio. Everything works perfect in XP. Personally, I can care less what protools version I run as long as it sounds like how it was recorded it (version 8 or 9).. But I need win 7 to work so I can get the great memory usage benefits. Anyone run into this? or have thoughts?
I am so out of ideas... Joe |

Re: Static in Audio/ProTools9 -win7 64
Both of you(in separate posts) should post a Sandra report on your systems to get proper help and advice. Without details, its near impossible to help, but I can tell you that PT9 runs great on several Windows 7 64 bit setups(including 2 systems here). Its really down to a few things: compatible hardware, proper system settings and tweaks, and following the rules(like NOT trying to record to the C: drive). Hopefully, Joe.LoDuca can paste a Sandra report here(after all, its his thread) and someone can help solve the issues
