Default Time Posting test! Testing.... 1, 2, 3,

Just a heads up. My log in time is correct and always has been. I want to see the login time fixed for posts, as it appeared to me the timezone was Indo or Bali or someplace two hours West of Hawaii.

Also -- please review security advise. Admittedly a little intense. But this is from a former sys-admin with CISCO training. Can't sit and type like this as my portable is broken. So the pain is too intense. But I perserved because I think AVID has a major problem opening up to ASIA and EASTERN EUROPE developers as hackers may be 'listening' and following leads. VPNs are not as secure as you may think.

AVID has a Medical Imaging Division in use by Government labs. These individuals are under strict requirements (no wifi within the compound) Firefox only. No P.h.D. or M.D. has admin priveleges on government owned specially constructed laptops (which are assigned to their researchers). Only top Sys Admins have password.

Here's the thread to review for security for us mortals: take it or leave it.

p.s. your VPN may be secure. But it is possible some 'new' developers are using their home ISP to read this forum. Thus this forum, now with government connections (National Labs) etc. may be of interest to the industrial espionage sector (which is big). I am not just referring to Chinese Google hack (which BTW lasted 6 months longer than reported in the news).

My former boss: ex-Siemens top engineer said in the old days, dumpster diving in the Silicon Valley was a daily event -- looking to peice together hole punched telex paper rolls ripped apart by hand. They (Siemens) began burning their hole punched paper. So. A head's up AVID.

It would appear the Forum unlike the software has native ADC.

Your post are showing up as 1:04 and 1:05 PM eastern time.

Not to pry. But where are you posting from. Your time show 5:15 PM. These are practically real time posts. My time is exactly 10:19 AM California Time.

Since I didn't change them, perhaps in my Hiatus (5 years) something changed on the DUC. But no way did I set my profile to England. No way.

And sorry, I guess Indo or Bali would have been AM not PM. My bad
