AUdio video from FC to Protools and then back to FC
Hello,
I'm working with a video editor that working with Final Cut. I need some help finding the best way to have him send me his projects and i can work with them in FC and them when I am done send them back to him. Any help would be nice |

Usually, final mixes or stems (mix sub-groups) are imported back into FC. If you need to give the editor the same clips he gave you, so he can keep editing, your editor friend could purchase Automatic Duck, to allow FCP to import an aaf or omf file from PT, but whatever plugins you used would not carry across. You'd have to make sure all your work is recorded into files or Audiosuite'd.
This is why we usually just give back full mixes or mix stems, and that is why I personally beat on them to wait until the picture is really locked, before starting audio. Of course, on the PT side you'll need to be able to open omf files. Digitranslator is required. |
