By using a USB-MIDI Keyboard you will be able to do everything that any other Pro Tools system with a MIDI input can do.

If you need MIDI output to trigger external MIDI modules then it is probably better to get an interface with MIDI I/O, such as the M-Box 2.

I have a dedicated interface for MIDI but I don't use it very much since the MIDI-Keyboard I use the most is USB-MIDI and works flawlessly with Pro Tools.

Just so the confusion doesn't grow for anyone new around here the Mbox series is actually a LE interface, not an M-Powered or M-Audio one.

Digidesign should have thought about the confusion they created when they joined with M-Audio.
