External hard drive connection to iBook G4/PT MP 7

Hi y'all! Im thinking of getting a external hard drive. How can I connect it to iBook since it has only one fire wire port and I using it on the FW 410 interface? iBook G4 1.42 GHz OS X 10.4.2 1.5 GB RAM/ PT MP 7 with FW 410

Plug the FW410 directly into the computer's FW port (always connect/disconnect with the laptop powered off so you don't damage the port), and then plug the FW Hard Drive to the Back of the FW410. There are 2 ports on the back of the FW410, this is what they are there for. Remember to never hot plug a FireWire device from your computer's FireWire port, if you do so, you can damage the computer. Also, you do not want to use a power supply if you use the FW410 on a Mac with a 6 pin FW port, only on a 4 pin port on a PC laptop. It is bus powered on a mac.

After connecting and formatting a brand new hard drive I meticously followed all the intructions on uninstalling and reinstalling PT MP 7. Everything seems to be fine execept that PT doesn't open! Even tried setting new account as recomended on the troubleshooting here at DUC, but after logging in on this new account the PT icon on the dock is missing and can't launch PT through Mac HD>Digidesign>PT. Am I missing something here? Need some help please! Thanks!
