Lowest RTL even at smallest buffer is in the ballpark of 8ms. Last edited by DUCHUNTER; 04-13-2013 at 11:23 PM. |

Re: Apollo 16 and HD Native
I don't consider 8ms as impossible latecy. That's very manageable.

Re: Apollo 16 and HD Native
Also your insert compensation works properly on HDN/HDX. Mixing wise, this has made my life so much better when mixing as I use quite a bit of outboard. Tracking latency is better on HDN/HDX but I rarely ever had an issue tracking at 64hw buffer on Fw interfaces.

That's at a buffer of 32. 64 is a more stable buffer and with safety buffers it's about 11ms. |

Yes. I bought an Apollo at launch and am very familiar with it.

Re: Apollo 16 and HD Native
Put me in the camp where 8ms is too much.
At PT10 I went with MH ULN8 and only track with the low latency path in the ULN8. Better than my old HD rig for timing. Can track through plug ins (like Apollo) but only the plugins in the Metric Halo box (not on PT tracks -- again just like apollo - though UAD has a much bigger suite of plugs to choose from!). Punches are a bit painful unless mutetone is working that day. It seems the only real path going forward with PT11 is with at least an HDN system -- 2ms is cool, 8ms -- not so much for me! But an 8 channel in and out PT11 system is not cheap.

Everything I have read to date, which is a lot because I'm considering going this route because HDX is just not in my plans and I am a junky or newer technology (PT11), is that there is no latency, or close to zero when tracking through the UA console into PT. I have read that there are folks who have hated having to use two different Mixer UI's, UA's and Protools, as an example, but yours if the first post I have read that speaks to latency issues when tracking through Plugin's when tracking through the UA Console. I just don't get it.

Could you please take a look at their comments and let me know what your thoughts are? It's likely that I am getting this mixed up. Here is a link: http://www.gearslutz.com/board/so-mu...eview-182.html Thanks, Barry
