Default Pro Tools 7.4 / Mbox Pro 3

My apologies for the basic question, but are PT 7.4.2 and Mbox Pro 3 not compatible? I was told they were and purchased a used Mbox Pro 3 but am unable to get PT to recognize the hardware. Very frustrating... Any help would be much appreciated.
