Can\'t loop selections shorter then 500 milliseconds
Hi!
I've searched the forum but havn't found the solution, so I try posting to you guys. The playback doesn't loop if the selection is shorter then 500 milliseconds, 501 ms works fine, but with a 499 ms or shorter selection the playback doesn't loop... Any sugestions? I'm running PT M-powered 7.3.1cs4 on a PC. Tanks! |

Re: Can\'t loop selections shorter then 500 milliseconds
ummm... because 500ms is extremely short.
You should search the Pro Tools Reference Guide. From chapter 19, page 409 in the Reference Guide in the section titled "Looping Playback": Quote:

Ok, that explains it...
Thanks for the quick response! Anyone know why this time limit exists? |

There may actually be some technical reason why, but I wouldn't know; I'm not a Pro Tools programmer. At 120bpm, 500ms is a single quarter note. Why on earth do you need to loop over less than a single quarter note? (I'm just curious, here) Loops are generally used for much longer passages of music.

Re: Can\'t loop selections shorter then 500 milliseconds
I was trying too loop a sound effect, for film, that was just under .5 sec to hear the effect of an EQ, and was confused why it couldn't be done. Haven't had the same problem in other editing software. But now that I know why, I think I can manage to live with it...

Re: Can\'t loop selections shorter then 500 milliseconds
you could take the clip and copy and paste it right next to itself then loop them both together so your loop sample is twice as long. if that helps.
