error: "access violation occured" when recording

hi, whenever i record something and stop the recording i immediatly get an error report reading "access violation occured" and the recorded region is gone. when i replay again PT doesn't stop replay anymore, so I have to close the session to get out of it.

how can i solve that problem?

I got that message when I upgraded to PTLE 7.1 and tried to run waves plugins without the waves plugin compatibility to Protools 7 upgrade. It crashed protools everytime I used them. I uninstalled waves and ProTools runs stable.

i didn't install anything prior to the appearance of that problem

You may try to reduce your available record time under the preferences to 18 minutes or so on.

i did everything the general trouble shooting suggested for the bios, limited recording time and marked all files as writeable and it worked again!!! so i don't know which was the most important of these, whatever, it works

i don't know if i fixed it or if it will come back, i'll see. i also did averything general troubleshooting suggested afterwards, just to make the best system possible
