Weird error where MIDI goes dark each time I open session
So, I don't frequently run VI's, but I've just run into a weird problem.
Across multiple projects the MIDI on an instrument track goes dark (instead of blue) like it's inactive. I can't figure out what's causing it, but normally inserting a new instrument track and then copying the old data over to it and then moving the inserts resolves it. Just copying the data makes the new one blue. Pic attached. |

It's lost its routing to the VI. Simply reassign the routing back to whichever midi instrument it was playing. Chris

Chris, the insert is directly on the track with the MIDI (instrument track). Not sure how to reassign.

Set the track view to instrument. This will open a column ( same as I/O / inserts / aux sends etc) where you will see the input and output routing for the midi. The input will probably be set to "all" and the output should be set to whichever instrument you have inserted on the track. If it's still routed to the instrument then just refresh it by selecting it again. If it's not routed to the instrument then just re assign it back to the instrument. Chris

Re: Weird error where MIDI goes dark each time I open session
Cool, thanks. Not sure why it's happening across certain projects every time, but I have a workaround...
