Default Protools 7.4LE and Windows 7

Hi,

I'm just checking to see if Protools 7.4LE can run under Windows 7 32-bit/64-bit or if the only option is to buy v8.

Thanks for your help.

Sorry, gotta run 8.0.3 with 8.0.4 DRIVERS and spend most of your time chasing BETA bugs instead of creating. Win 7 is NOT the hot setup for Pro Tools right now.

I am just Quoting the DigiTech admin here
NOTE: Although not officially supported in this release, the 8.0.3 version of the Pro Tools release will preview our upcoming support for the Windows 7 32 and 64 bit operating systems. Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 can be used on Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit) as a public beta.

NOTE: These instructions ONLY apply to the following devices:
003
003 Rack
003 Rack+
Mbox 2
Mbox 2 Mini
Mbox 2 Micro
Digi 002
Digi 002 Rack
So it seems that PT7.4 will not work with Windows 7

Cheers,
Nicholas

Sometimes unqualified simply means untested. The biggest hurdle with Windows 7 and older PT is the firewire connection so a USB interface(ie Mbox) may just work. Personally, I love Windows 7 and won't go back to XP(even though I can do it with a 10 second drive swap). The difference between XP and Windows 7 64 bit(on my system below) was almost 200 Dverbs with no other changes at all(Dverb2 test). No its not perfect, but I get lots of work done
