Mackie d8b nd Pro Tools 10

Will the Mackie d8b work with Pro Tools 10? I have found conflicting opinions online. Some say it will work fine with Version 5 of the HUI. http://www.mackie.com/products/d8b_v5/hui.html Not sure how up to date that info is.

Also heard that in HUI mode the d8b won't control channels 1-8(?)

Anyway, is anyone using the Mackie d8b in HUI mode with PT 10?
Hopefully it would work with PT 11

I have used the d8b in HUI years ago.
I think it was still PT5.x with the Blue HD

If I remember correctly, only the last 8 faders on the d8b are used as a control surface, transport and other features were working as expected.
Currently 10 works as expected with the HUI, so it should with the d8b in HUI mode also.

I think the d8b update to 5.1 HUI allows all the faders to be used in the control surface now. But, I can't find a definite answer anywhere as of yet.

Anyone currently using the d8b with PT 10? I'd love your feedback.

Go to youtube and look for Marc Girand, he's a programmer that recode the mackie boards to turn it into a fully operational surface controller. He sales the software and cables needed for $350. He has videos up on youtube showing the software in action.

At this time he has not yet made that possible with pro tools yet.
He changed the protocol and is not using HUI in the 24 fader surface.
That works with just about every other major daw except pro tools

Id like to add the Mackie D8B is not touch sensitive and when I used it in PT9 the faders were very slow to interact making any realtime automation impossible because the user fader moves are not real time, they play back realtime but not write and touch is not possible.
Unless you own it already dont buy it for a control surface.
HUI is also listed by AVID as NOT TESTED and MAY OR MAY NOT WORK (the last time I checked)
