Cool VENUE D-Show using MADI-Card and FWx-Card in FoH-Rack

Hi from Germany,
i´m using FWx-card on my FoH-Rack, worked fine so far for the usual 18 tracks into Protools 9. Now, after installing the MADI-card and using it for the 32 tracks to PT9 and VSC (working fine with RME MADI Express-card), my FireWire-option has disappeared, even though it is recognized by PT-In/Out-setup.
The VENUE (2.9.0.2) shows me both cards in "Devices", but the Patchbay offers only "Protools & MADI..." with MADI 49 to 64 AND HD 1 to 18 !!! - but there is no HD-card built in....
I want to use MADI OR FW, so where did i go wrong in the setup ???
Txs in advance

From my understanding, only ONE FWx card or a MADI/HDx card can be used in the system at any given time. I have both, but I switch them out if I do a show which needs FWx instead of the MADI. I have never tried having them "active" at the same time.

That's interesting, I've just been reading the live recording guide and it says, and I quote:
"You can install two HDx
cards, two MADI cards, or an HDx card and a
MADI card in an FOH Rack or a Mix Rack and
operate them in a redundant output configuration.
With redundant outputs you can:
• Record all 48 Stage inputs, plus any assignable
outputs, to two independent, 64-channel
Pro Tools|HD systems.
• Record all 48 Stage inputs, plus any assignable
outputs, to a Pro Tools|HD system, and
transmit the same channels to an external
MADI device.
• Send all 48 Stage inputs, plus any assignable
outputs, to two external MADI devices,
including a Pro Tools|HD system
incorporating HD MADI interfaces."

Furthermore, on P15 of the PDF it shows this configuration + a dual HDX card configuration allowing redundant back-up.

But you can't use either of these and FW at the same time.

Yup. Only ONE FWx or dual MADI/FWx card (of any configuration) can be used at a given time. It is like trying to combine ProTools LE and HD systems.

I believe Ken meant MADI(MDx) / HDx. No mixing FWx w/ anything else.
