Digi 002 R problem detected with audio clock. HELP :(
i have protools 7.1, windows xp professional SP 2, plenty of ram, etc.
protools has worked fine for the past year and a half until i formatted my computer. now im not a novice when it computers, i know i formatted correctly. my hardware is unchanged. when i try to playback or record in protools i get: "Problem detected with audio clock. Check that your clock source and sample rate are correct." I made sure, and it is selected as internal, 44.1 sample rate (as is the session file). all the lights and everything are lined up and on properly. i have tried adjusting the buffer, and using an external clock in my presonus digimax lt, but STILL i get the same problem. i have been searching for months, calling for support (except i am NOT paying $3/hr to talk to someone on the phone), emailing, and everything else. please help, im desperate and this is severly hampering my cash flow!! |

Re: Digi 002 R problem detected with audio clock. HELP :(
Do you have anyhing connect to you digital inputs or outputs (SP/DIF or ADAT)? If so, you probably should set the external device to be Master at 44.1KHz and the 002R to external clock at 44.1KHz. Again use only one device as the master clock.

Re: Digi 002 R problem detected with audio clock. HELP :(
I have had this problem a few times.
try to remember if you have made some changes to you midi og instrument tracks that was out of the ordinary. Some changes can screw up you audio clock. Once I copied (with ctrl+c) a single note from one instrument track to another another instrument track and the problem came. Then I just removed the note again and it worked. (I might had to change the audio clock and the change it back again sort of to reset it. Don't remember) If you have no idea where you might have made some bad changes try to make the tracks inactive one at the time and se whether the system plays. I haven't tried this my self. But maybe it will work, and you'll know which track the flaw is on. Kasper

Re: Digi 002 R problem detected with audio clock. HELP :(
also, to add on to this...
my setup is listed as supported: VIA K8T800 Pro chipset socket 939 and if it helps to determine anything, the 1394 light blinks quite often. |

Re: Digi 002 R problem detected with audio clock. HELP :(
Quote 1:
I made sure, and it is selected as internal, 44.1 sample rate (as is the session file). Quote 2: i have adat as my clock source, and on the device it is set to 44.1. These two statements may point to your problem. In Quote 1, you have your Digi002R set as the master clock (as indicated by the use of the phrase "selected as internal") and that is set to 44.1KHz. In Quote 2, you have ADAT set as your clock source (hence your external device is set to be master). It sounds like both devices are set to be master whis is not allowed. Only one device can be the master and the others must not be set to master, even if they all are set to 44.1KHz. Think of it this way. Each device is like a walkie-talkie. Only one person can press their transmit button at a time to be heard by the other walkie-talkies. If two people press the transmit button at the same time, neither of them can hear the other one, and other receivers can not hear them either. In my experience, the Digi002R works best by being a slave (not Master, so it should be set to external clock). The other ADAT device should be set to be Master (internal). Both devices should be set to use 44.1KHz.

Re: Digi 002 R problem detected with audio clock. HELP :(
Is your computer dual core? If yes, make sure you install the duocore hotfix.
Have you tried changing the H/W buffer to a higher setting?

Re: Digi 002 R problem detected with audio clock. HELP :(
Did you follow my suggestions (Set 002R to external clock and the other ADAT device to internal clock)? Did it not work? What is the ADAT device specifically?
