connecting an AUx to another Aux

basically i have 3 synths connected to an Aux 3 other synths connected to an Aux and additional 3 synths connected to an Aux ( i would do this all the time in reason studio easy as pie) now the tricky part in pro tools - when i connect the 3 Aux to a single Aux ( bussed out the Auxs to 1 Aux) seems i have no control over any of the synths in solo mode or even mute mode - i can mute all the synth channels (with the buss Aux soloed) and still im getting sound from all synth channels. i can even turn down the 3 aux channels to zero (ones connect to the synths) and still 100% volume from all synth channels (muted) ... could it have something to do with freeze tracks (all channels except the buss Aux are frozen) any ideas or sudjestions is really really appreciated.

How are you routing the three aux channels to the master buss aux channel? Via sends or physically routing the output?

If the former, your sends may be pre fader and thus would still route the audio to the master aux buss channel.

the first set of synths are HD audio mic input 1-2 audio out path selector bus 1-2 - bus 1-2 is routed to Aux 1 input 1-2

second set of synths are HD audio mic input 1-2 audio out path selector bus 3 - 4 - bus 3-4 is routed to Aux 2 input 3 -4

third set of synths are HD audio mic input 1-2 audio out path selector bus 11 - 12 - bus 11 - 12 is routed to Aux 3 input 11 -12

Aux 1 routed to out put bus 9 - 10

Aux 2 routed to out put bus 9 - 10

Aux 3 routed to out put bus 9 - 10

bus 9 - 10 routed to input Aux 4 input 9 - 10 out path selector Audio ouput SST 1 -2

and im guessing that goes directly into the master fader ( im not totally sure)
