\"timeline insertion follows playback\"
I found this post on the Windows forum, but I'm having the same problem...
<<"The double 'selection' (blue) arrows at the top of my Edit window that marks the beginning of my playback (when hitting space bar) now seem to follow the play back and move to the 'stop' position when i hit the spacebar the second time. I know for a fact this never used to do that - it would remain on the spot that i put it, regardless of how many times i hit the spacebar.">> Ever since I've upgraded to 6.7 this also happens to me, randomly, repeatedly and undesirably throughout all sessions. Is this a bug or am I accidentally hitting a keyboard shortcut? Anyone else noticed this? |

Re: \"timeline insertion follows playback\"
Have you unchecked that option in Pro Tools Preferences?

Yes I deselect that option every time it happens. Keyboard focus mode? That's probably what's going on... How do I get out of keyboard focus mode? |

Re: \"timeline insertion follows playback\"
Mess around with these 3 icons, the second two will help you. You'll see the "tab to transient" mode (->>), the "focus mode" (a...z), and then the other mode that I forgot the name of (*||*v^) kinda looks like that... haha, hope I helped at all.

Re: \"timeline insertion follows playback\"
For what it's worth, that third icon is called "link edit/timeline selection" and is a shortcut for the option under the operations window and can be toggled on and off by pressing shift+/.
Also, I wouldn't get out of command focus mode (a...z), just be mindful of the N key. Command focus is one of the biggest "efficiency" tools you'll ever learn. |

Re: \"timeline insertion follows playback\"
Cool, thanks for the name. I agree, I just got the sticker set and I'm learning all of that now, it's awesome!
