Default Metering in Pro Tools

HI Guys,

i was working in Protols with a mate who uses Cakewalk, and he was complaining that the meters do not actualy show like a normal LED Meter, with increments, of what the DB is. He Said pro tools is crap, and i should us Cakewalk. But i love protools.

Can protools have LED Meter, with increments

Also when i start a new session, it has +12, or +6 db, what is the difference

thansk for any help

jimbob

12 dB gives you more monitoring headroom and is therefor easier to use if you have some tracks you really have to boost.

The amount of dB can always be found in numbers below your fader.

Don't let that 'friend' influence you. The ppl who hate pro tools are often the ones who haven't worked with it very often;

Well, anyone that says Cakewalk is better than ProTools shouldn't really be taken too seriously, so you've got little to fret about.
