Audio&video out of sync in FC when output to PTHD

Using Core Audio 6.1.2, I have noticed out of sync audio in relation to video even on very short clips in Final Cut. These same clips play fine in Pro Tools with Movie sync offset set.
Also the movie plays fine in Final Cut when output through Firewire DV. (I am only able to select this option by deleting Final Cut from supported apps in Core Audio Set up. )
This leads me to conclude that outputting through digi hardware via core audio is subject to the same offset need as Pro Tools, but other apps such as Final Cut do not have a way to set this offset.
I never noticed this before.
This also makes me afraid of going to CoreAudio 6.5 since I can no longer opt out with out remembering to hold shift down each time I launch Final Cut, this is a bit of a pain, but would be necessary since having digi hardware selected grays out the firewire dv audio option in Final Cut.

Hi Mark,
The audio is not out of sync. It plays in time. The video is the element that is out of sync. To prove it, look at the video on the computer monitor and listen to the audio. It's in sync. Only the video on the NTSC monitor is out of sync. PT is a good program because it will correct for the video offset. It's not even a video editing program!
