Never tried with S3 or S6, but the Artist Mix works great since Raven is HUI and Artist Mix is EUCON.

Only issue is EUCON steals the meters from the Raven External Mixer, but since the Raven Internal Mixer uses the Pro tools meters that isn't a deal breaker at all.

You could probably first test with V-Control Pro web app or ipad app and see if it works, then this will confirm that Raven will work since it is the bridge between Raven and PT with HUI control.

Editing with a touch screen or any s6 sounds like hell. Give me a trackball and keyboard please!

Thanks! Aren't you the guy that did some training videos for Slate? Those were cool! So it should work I guess although the S6 version of EUCON isn't the same as the one for the S3/Dock/Artist series. I'll get my dealer to send me their demo machine to try.

Way more fun editing on a touch screen with Batch Commands .. I used to despise comping vocals and now I get paid to push 2 buttons with 1 finger a couple hundred times.

Problem with keyboard and mouse is you have to let go of your beer to be able to hit the shortcuts. i.e. "Shift Cntrl Cursor Up" for clip gain.

Did all of this with 1 hand while filming.

yeah, I have been using Raven for 4 years now.

good to know about S6 protocol. See if SX Pro will loan you a demo Raven to try with the S6.

The biggest issue I can think of with it would be the ergonomics.

Where would you put the Raven that you could still get to the S6?

It kind of suits a smaller format desk IMHO if you want to retain real faders as well as touchscreen capability and be able to have everything in easy reach.

Its a bit like when you go in theatres now and they've plonked an S3 on a wooden board on top of the DFC.

Some newer rooms are thinking about that dual functionality in the design thankfully.

I would put the Raven on an Articulating Vesa Mount Arm that could swing over the S6 when you need touch. I have seen a couple users with the vesa mounts and it seems really cool.

That's a good idea Jamey thanks, I'll have to try that in my setup.
It would open up some space under the Raven.
It'll have to be a long and high vesa arm to get over an S6 I reckon.

I agree. I've tried the Raven and don't care for it. I think the editing we do in post is more intense and involved than vocal comping or anything music guys would do. Yes I can reach up and tweak a clip on the touchscreen, but if I can do the same without moving my hands from their position isn't that more ergonomic? IMO the only way to get a large touchscreen into an ergonomic position is to move the keyboard and mouse out of the way and that is not an option for me.

Now the batch utility is nifty as is the Devil Technologies one. But that is usable without a Raven.
