Default can I use USB-C to Thunderbolt2 adaptor?

can I use USB-C to Thunderbolt2 adaptor?
I have the new mac book which come with usb-c port. Can I connect avid native thunderbolt to the laptop?
Does anyone have the solution to make this combination work? I cant find anything on the market that will let me use USB and Thunderbolt at the same time.
USB is needed for the dongle

USB C is not Thunderbolt. Thunderbolt 3 and USB C use the same connector, but are different protocols. So, no

I don't think any Macs have Thunderbolt 3 yet, its still PC only.
If thats a Macbook without a Thunderbolt 2 connector, there is no way to get a Thunderbolt device connected to it.

Exactly.

MacBook (not the MacBook Pro) has no Thunderbolt support *at all*, and is completely the wrong computer to buy if you need to connect HD Thunderbolt, there is *no* possible connectivity solution.

For Pro Tools, it's all right here.

New MBP=
Four Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports with support for:

Charging
DisplayPort
Thunderbolt (up to 40 Gbps)
USB 3.1 Gen 2 (up to 10 Gbps)

$50.00 adaptors or so depending on the port-to type.

Yes but none of these recent posts help the OP at all. There is simply no Thunderbolt on the USB-C connector on a MacBook (non-Pro) (there is on the new MacBook Pro USB-C).
