Re: Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter
Thank you people, interesting ideas.
Using Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter for vocals in the project I am mixing now. Just as an insert, to make vox more lively. In my case, what worked for me is DAW HPF -> Waves Vocal Rider -> CLA-2A -> CLA-76 -> Aural Exciter -> DAW EQ -> Waves H-delay. I like this chain. |

Re: Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter
Actually, I'm a fan of doing Subtractive EQ -> Enhancer/Harmonics -> Compression -> Additive EQ
I like to remove some of the "nasties", enhance the desirable, compress it to bring out out a bit more and boost a little to taste. Depending what the mix needs. Not just with the Aphex, which is a great unit by the way, but with anything I use to generate harmonics in general. It's good to have several enhancers doing different things in my opinion the mix is less likely to sound "hyped" and harsh in some instances. |

Re: Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter
Way to do too, it depends if you want to compress it with harmonics or not.

Re: Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter
Also great as a squasher on a parallel processed drum group. Smash and add to taste.
