S3 Fader Problem

Hi,

I have a problem with fader 8 on my S3 it shows the Solo and Mute button flashing on the controller also I get the following message.

''One or more faders on surface S3Mix CS (AvidS3) has encountered an error and has been disabled.
Please check that all faders are free to move and are not obstructed, then click "Reset" to reset faders without restarting the surface''.

I have tried resetting the S3 but the problem still exists running EuControl 3.5.0 11754885.

I tried rebooting the S3 but now find that EuControl is causing problems and the S3 Controller is no longer showing up in the surfaces area of the EuControl settings.

The EUCON performance improvements included in S6 v3.5 makes v3.5 and later versions incompatible with all previous versions of EUCON and EuControl. As a result, version 3.5 and future versions must not be run on the same network (subnet) as any previous EU- CON Surface software. All devices on the network must be running the same version of EUCON/EuControl. Please uninstall or remove from the same network all previous S6, System 5 Hybrid, S5-MC/MCPro, Pro Tools | Dock, Pro Tools | S3, and Artist Series software. Be sure to update any other EUCON software to v3.5 or higher before using EuControl v3.5 or higher.

I had the S3 working fine in the past does the S3 require a new type of firmware update when using EuControl 3.5 and ProTools 12.7.0 on Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1

Having just installed ProTools 12.7.1 but still have issues with EuControl finding the Surface S3 in the EUCON Application running Eucontrol 3.5.0 on mac OS Sierra 10.12.1 even after many restarts.

I'd definitely say it's worth a support call on that one.

Can you use it at all or is it a intermittent problem?

This should be fixed in the upcoming v3.6 Edit: I'm not sure this is your issue now, see below.

The firmware should be updated from EuControl. But if its not being seen there check your network.

I have had to wait and see if the problem still exists as sometimes its there and sometimes its not it all depends on the ProTools project I have running I will try to get back to you ASAP if it is still causing further problems.

Have been having this 3 times since upgrading to Eucon 3.6 (although that's probably coincidental). So far resetting worked fine every time. Faders were by now means obstructed.
