Default Dock and Mix, will they work together?

Going forward the command 8 might not be supported, and wondered if the Dock and the Artist Mix will work together

I am still waiting on more dock info but plan on getting one...

I currently have a Command 8 and it's really good for fader levels and monitor control, zoom and the like solo/mute. Flips to aux masters/Groups as well.

Didn't I read something that said the dock wouldn't work with the artist series controllers?

Command|8 was a serious controller back in the days. It worked like a charm but missed some features that are important to me. EuCon delivers things like fader locking and control for more than one workststion in the network - both very welcome to me. But still there are things Command|8 delivered that EuCon misses. The knowledge seems to be in the company, why don't you use it?

Best

Mark

I'm actually curious if the Dock and Command 8 will work together...

I think that as Command 8 is a "midi" controller and Dock is Eucon the only thing I know is that metering on the Command won't work as Eucon takes preference but other wise I can't see why not.

Okay thanks, I'll inquire further with Avid to confirm.

The only Artist unit that won't work with the DOCK is the Artist Control

I don't think that's correct.

Doesn't matter anyway since the Artist Control has been discontinued, so it will become increasingly unlikely as stocks dwindle that someone would buy them together.

Please verify^. The iPad app is what doesn't co-exist with the Artist Control, and the DOCK uses the iPad app. Its worth investigating as there are hundreds of Artist units floating around on the second hand market, so I expect they will continue to be used by many for years to come.

The iPad app does co-exist with the control now, but it didn't at the first release.
