Default future request>SIMPLE program change !!!! sign in>>

i know how to make a program change in PT BUT
the thing is that it takes 4EVER to insert a simple PGM !!!
I'm sure that if we will able to select a midi part and SIMPLY
insert a program change on the main PGM box rather then
select the PGM selection , select the pancil make sure its on the
right position (since it will merge regionss) blablabla . . .

SIMPLY to make it easy !!! DIGI !!!

Please excuse me if I'm not reading you properly...

You can make a program change at the beginning of the whole track using the main box.

If you're talking about mid-way through a track, how else could one identify exactly where the new program change should fall unless one uses the pencil tool to point to the correct location?

I'm not sure if I can think of a better way. How do the other sequencers handle multiple mid-sequence program changes?

hi phil ,
tell me do you find the way its working now EASY ?
IF only we could SELECT a midi part (region) and SIMPLY open the main
pgm box and select/insert a NUMBER !!! what could be more simple ...
LIKE : CUBASE / LOGIC /

FOR WHAT? you have a PGM box with 1 pgm limit ???????????????
it falls exactly under DIGIdesign way of thinking !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
limits !!!!

digi !! i remember reading that youre going to improve the midi side
100% ,ok i am looking farward but why not a simple comment about
my idea ? its soo obvious ah : )

cheers : )

Ah, I see now.

I couldn't work out how you would identify the point of the change without the pencil, but you're right, if we could highlight a region, then open the Program Change window, and a Program Change would be auto-added to the head of the region. That would work nicely. Maybe both methods could be implemented?

Forgetting mid-sequence changes for the moment, I personally prefer Pro Tools' Program Change selection system over Cubase (although things may have changed for Cubase 5). I much rather have all the patches laid out in neat, complete, banks (ie. Pro Tools), than have a single string of names that scroll up/down inside a narrow window where you can't find things quickly 'cause you cant see 128 patches at a time (ie. Cubase).

A one program limit per track is backwards, although there is a workaround.

Personally, using PTLE for PC, I'd like to just be able to see the names of the programs to facilitate programming period. Why Digidesign decided to cheap it out and use Windows's built in capabilities I'll never know.

Digidesign has stated that the next upgrade will be the one where midi is beefed up, as if it didn't need it with the most recent upgrade. I guess surround sound was more important.

hi WestPhillySoulzition , the prob is the time it takes ! ! to make a simple P change . . .
its only a program change aint it ?

btw: i had a few bad experiances with the curent way that MERGE 2 regions .. (say 1 region is on bar 20 and the other on 40 ,) SO if i by mistake . . pressed the pensill on a place without a region it creates one
OR merge new nu 1 to the last it sees . . . you get it some times .> ?

thanx for your replys
