Default How to do individual MIDI track vertical zoom?

The PT reference manual says hold the "Start" key and click or click-drag on the vertical zoom button for individual MIDI track vertical zoom. I tried that but all MIDI tracks are zooming together. What am I missing?

If you just want to see that one midi track bigger you just left click on the little piano keys and the pop up with "small, medium, large, extreme...etc" comes up. Sorry if that isn't what you're asking?

What you mentioned is making the track viewing area larger vertically. What I want to know is how to zoom in/out - ie, make the MIDI notes larger/smaller in vertically size within A track but not all tracks.

Oh OK. Sorry, can't help you there. I was just having problems with that yesterday. I'd like to know how too. Hopefully this thread won't get pushed down from all this 7.3 nonsense and someone can get us an answer.

From page 250 of the 7.0/7.1 Reference Guide:
Quote:
To zoom in or out vertically for a single MIDI or
Instrument track:

1 Make sure the Track View is not set to Regions
View.
2 Hold Start (Windows) or Control (Macintosh)
and click and drag upwards to zoom in, or
downward to zoom out.
I hope that was what you were looking for.
(Please note; this feature is different in version 7.3, and you never mentioned what version...)

I'm using version 7.1. I've read the reference guide as mentioned by you. It's doesn't work as advertised, hence this post.

Are you Start-click-dragging on the track in question? Your initial post indicates that you are start-click-dragging on the button. You should be doing it on the track.

I've solved the problem myself.

This is what's written in the Reference Manual:

1 Make sure the Track View is not set to Regions
View.
2 Hold Start (Windows) or Control (Macintosh)
and click and drag upwards to zoom in, or
downward to zoom out.

What's not mentioned is that you need to select the zoomer tool (magnifying glass), before performing the above steps.

One would imagine that after 7 versions, the manual should be as complete as can be. WRONG!

This is what's written in the 7.3 version:

View.
2. Select the Zoomer tool
3 Hold Start (Windows) or Control (Macintosh)

This feature has only been available since version 7.0, so they got it right in the second revision; not bad in my book.
