Unable to double click to open a saved template
Have any of you had this problem?....Up to PT6.7 I was able to save a template, (Stationary pad), and then just double click on it at some later date to start PT and open a new session. Since PT6.9 this has been impossible with a double click just making a copy and opening the template as if it were a normal session.
The PT7 manual states that double clicking should a template - but it doesn't! Any ideas?? |

Re: Unable to double click to open a saved template
Sounds like this applies to your situation. Taken from the Answerbase:
"For this familiar dialog to appear in Pro Tools 6.9, you must open Pro Tools first, then use the File > Open Session command to open the Template session. Launching the session outside of Pro Tools results in an immediate duplication of the session document, THEN a launch of the Pro Tools application, hence, no template dialog. This is an automatic feature of the Apple OS and is consistent with how it manages items that are designated as stationary. Changes in the Pro Tools application to conform with Apple's OSX specifications have resulted in this workflow change. All other OSX applications will behave in exactly the same manner. Failure to launch the template from within Pro Tools with the File > Open Session command will result in Disk Allocation set to the template's audio files folder which may be undesirable."

Re: Unable to double click to open a saved template
Hey Stig.
Thanks for that - it's pretty well what I experience. Real shame though...the old way was so much better. One step forward / two steps back!! John |

Re: Unable to double click to open a saved template
You should try to get used to the Workspace features. It's a pain changing routines, but once you got it down...

Opening a session template from the Workspace Browser (dbl click) behaves as it did previously. |
