Updated 4/28/05 - This driver is no longer considered beta, having been fully qualified by M-Audio

The Pro Tools M-Powered 6.8 for Mac OS X compatibility documents have been updated with this information and instructions.
Added to the main compatibility page:
http://www.digidesign.com/compato/osx/ma/

FireWire 1814 OSX 1.5 Update

M-Audio has posted a new driver that resolves a firmware update issue on Mac OS X with the FireWire 1814 only. To download:
  1. Go to the to the Support-> Drivers section on the M-Audio website
  2. On the right, under Drivers Search, Select Product -> FireWire 1814
  3. Click SUBMIT
  4. Download the file FireWire_OSX_1.5.dmg
Note: Even though the download information says "This release was tested on OS 10.3.7, 10.3.8, and 10.3.9", Digidesign recommends that all M-Powered owners remain on Mac OS X version 10.3.7 or 10.3.8 for compatibliity with Pro Tools M-Powered 6.8.

Yea sorry man, this driver does not fix a thing with me. I am running a FW1814 and trying to run M-powered. Have installed and reinstalled latest drivers several times as well as M-powered.....repaired permissions etc. Nothing works.

SO, when are you going to release an update that will adress this problem so those of us who made costly investments in buying a FW1814 and M-Powered can actually enjoy using it?

Sincerly,

Mark

Mark, unless you have already done so on another post, give us a discription of your set-up. No easy working things out when we know so little.

BTW did you uninstall the older driver? This may be the problem.

Thanks.

I have the same problem with PWB 1,67Ghz 1Go RAM OS10.3.9
FW1814 works perfectly with Live and PT M-Powered Demo but not with PT M-Powered authorized (it does not recognizes the sound card)!

Pro Tools M-Powered is not qualified for use with OS 10.3.9, which could be the problem. We have had other reports of customers having issues after updating to 10.3.9.

You may need to revert to an earlier OS version to fix the problem, as nothing else about your systems seem to point to a clear cause.

Hi there,

It really sounds like you somehow have unsupported versions of the M-Audio drivers. Try this:

1. Get the demo working.
2. Launch the full (non-demo) PTMP installer.
3. From the full PTMP installer, do a clean un-install.
4. Now install the full version of PTMP. For this test, do not install the M-Audio drivers from the full installer.
5. Does this work?

Thanks,
Digi-Eng

No it does not work. When Digidesign realizes an update for 10.3.9?

Hi I am a new guy here I just purchase a FW 1814 with version 6.8 Protools for M-Power, I am confuse why there are some post saying that it does not work on Mac OS 10.3.9 because that is what I am using now on my laptop and so far it seem to be working ok

I not sure about other users here but the one thing I did do was download the newest drivers version 1.5 I never did install the one that came with the M-Audio 1814 software.
