Check under Audio Suite-Other. It is called BF Essential Tuner. At least that's where it is for PT 7.

Actually, now that I checked, for some reason the tuner doesn't show up in AudioSuite. Open up a session, go to the mix window, go to the inserts section, click on up/down arrow and a pop-up menu will come up. Scroll down to "plugin", then another pop-up menu comes up and scroll down to "other". That is where the BF Essential Tuner (mono) should be. click on it and the tuner should now be an active insert on the track.

Because it would be impossible to use as an Audiosuite plug, needs to be real time.

Actually BF Tuner is very old and not that great.

BUT, there is a much better tuner in Protools, called In Tune (used to be called TL Intune). It should show up in the category of "other".

It's a fantastic, very accurate tuner, that can be stroboscopic or other methods as well.

For those having trouble finding an Instrument Tuner -or- Guitar Tuner in PT11 or earlier: InTune is a professional instrument tuner plug-in that is available in DSP and Native formats. It offers the features and performance of a rack mounted digital tuner in the convenience of a plug-in. InTune provides accurate and rapid tuning for a wide range of musical instruments, saving valuable studio time and adding a level of unprecedented convenience for musicians and audio engineers.
HOW TO USE InTune with Pro Tools: simply create a new mono audio or Auxiliary Input track in Pro Tools, and select InTune from the plug-in menu for that track.
When InTune detects an audio signal from the track, the meter lights up and displays the relative pitch of the incoming signal. With stringed instruments, this will vary during the attack and decay of the note.
By default, InTune loads the Chromatic tuner preset. This displays all notes in the scale and automatically displays the required octave.
InTune provides a number of factory presets for stringed instruments in alternate tunings. Each factory preset is programmed with the specific notes for each string of the instrument in order to speed the tuning process, as well as making it easier for engineers to generate test tones for musicians to tune with.
