Odd counter/transport behavior

I must be hitting some key command by accident.

Lately for no apparent reason I'll lose transport control over PT and the counter will give me rather odd negative numbers in the read out.

A quick restart and an apology to the client always clears it up.

Any ideas?
Is it linked to some external sync command I may me hitting by mistake?

In the heat of battle I haven't found the answer and when off duty with time to poke around I've failed to recreate the problem.

7.3.latest cs, OS 10.4.11 PPC dual 2.3 G5
