Default Re: Octopre with 003

I'm having to figure this out myself as well. I had purchased a mac pro from sweetwater that already had the OctoPre installed so I'm not sure what the steps are now that I am trying to install it in my MacBook Pro. Not sure if there are some drivers I need to install first or what?? I have the light pipe out of the octopre to the in of the 003. I also have the appropiate dither and Sample Rates selected and it stiil doesn't appear in my Hardware choices to sync with an optical clock. That's why I think I am missing a driver. When I figure something out I will post.

No driver is required. Start by attaching a lightpipe "cable" from the Octopre ADAT out to the 003 ADAT in. On the Octopre, set the sample rate and bit depth to match your Protools settings. Now open Protools and go to hardware setup. Make sure Optical=ADAT and then set Sync to ADAT. Then open your session and go to I/O setup and make sure the ADAT inputs(9-16) are shown, or enable them by choosig Add Path and make your assignments in the grid. If you double-click on the names in the left column("path" is default on new paths) you can name them. I labelled mine(Presonus Firestudio) as Fire 1, Fire 2, etc
