Anybody using Korg Kronos with midi actually working?

Yes. I tried to set all of that, but the implementation of AMS in Yosemite is awful. MIDI Test is awkward (can't even tell if it works) and the same thing for Rescan Devices. What happened? Did I come to Mac and PT just in time for both to suck?

God - you give up 3D shading in Mavericks for minimalism in Yosemite, and you can't tell if it works. I think I liked OSX Mavericks better (and I never owned it - since I only started using MAC in Feb2015:)

Did you download and use Snoize? At the very least it will show you immediately if you're getting a MIDI stream to your computer from your Kronos. It will also tell you what channel(s) the incoming data is assigned to.

I have the same computer, interface, I used to have an Artist Mix and Transport, the only thing different is I have HD, a Yamaha MOX8 going through an ancient AKAI Midi patch bay then to a MIO, and I'm on 10.10.2.

There is one other thing we have not discounted. Your Win box might have USB 2.0, the trashcan has USB 3.0. I know it's supposed to be backwards compatible, but maybe there is something going on there...I have heard there is weirdness with an iLok and usb 3.0 ports with certain configs. Get Snoize and stop poking around in the dark.

No. I have never changed anything, and have been able to use both. I never tried both at the same time, although I have considered it since I have Win8 and the Mac running side by side.

Haven't downloaded Snoise yet, but I will do that today.

I have heard about the USB3 issue. I have tried direct USB3 on the can, and I have a Belkin powered USB2.0 hub. Neither one will work. My Win machine has 2 and 3 and my Kronos works on both.

I am running 10.10.3. Wasn't the USB3 issue was supposed to be cured?

I just downloaded Snoize. I see signal when I play the keyboard. Garageband has signal, too. This has got to be something setup wrong in PT12. I am flat out of ideas.

Okay, so I don't know exactly what happened, but I can now play MID as long as I have the output on my Kronos set to Ch 10. Weird. My Xpand2 instrument 1 is on midi channel 1. Why is this?

I am not gonna complain, at least I can record now!I'll try to figure it out later.

Isn't Channel 10 what the Drum Track MIDI was set to?

Most drum programs default to MIDI channel 10 which has been since the dawn of MIDI. I'd suggest to Michael that he go back to using snoize MIDI monitor and see what channels his Kronos is sending on. This could explain why some MIDI paths are working and others aren't. It's a shame MIDI protocol doesn't have a transmit on all channels like it does receive on all channels.

I agree. Since it IS working on channel 10, it must be a channel issue. There is a midi monitor in Studio One, it would be helpful in these kinds of situations if there were one in PT.
