Default Apogee Ensemble & Pro Tools 9 Question

I have read that the Apogee Ensemble has connection issues with Pro Tools 9. Does anyone use this set up well? I want to use the Ensemble because it's firewire capable with great converter quality and 8 channels. I don't want to pay $2000 for an Appolo.

Hi, I'm not sure but if it uses ASIO it should work. You might want to check out the Apogee forums and ask there as well.

No it definitely does not use ASIO--Windows land stuff. Its a Mac only interface with core-audio drivers. A well regarded and nice interface. But I suspect the Apollo is the reason the Ensemble is no longer sold. It crushes the Ensemble with features (esp. if you like UAD plugins) at around the same original price point.

I'm not sure of the exact issue the OP is referring to or if its real. But I expect lots of Pro Tools users are using Ensemble interfaces.
