Elastic timing and pitch with X-Form rendering is build in a paid plug-in option is not required.

All versions of PT 9 have Varispeed see page 883 of the user guide

The green Input Monitor button I really miss! Even if its original design is hardware dependent, Avid has to come up with a native solution.

I can't see any reason why this should not work for printing tracks inside Pro Tools (were I need it the most). And even for interface inputs it has to be possible, since ASIO supports Direct Monitoring (and has for years).

Please vote for the feature request in my signature if you feel the same - thanks.

This is per-track Varispeed based on Elastic Audio, which is not the same as the VSO option which is only available if you have HD and a Sync interface. Using the VSO option, you could raise/lower the pitch of PT by a semitone with a couple of clicks. To do this with EA, you'd have to enable the Varispeed EA plugin on every track, then do some math to figure out what tempo change would be needed to change the pitch by an even semitone. Too much of a PITA to do it that way...

One of the reasons for hardware VSO is to be able to do pull-up and pull-down to film/video. Varispeed software is useless for that.

I don't have Continuous Scrolling with Playhead option when using my PT9 with CPTK2. Not that I miss it, but anyway, it's missing.

Never tried it, does the audio also speed up / slow down when pitch shifting that way?

It is very likely, as the VSO alters the playback sample rate (AFAIK).

Yes. You can't go very far with it though unfortunately. (+/- 1.5 semitones max I think?)
