Default ProTools with Two Computers

I have a Mix system with an extra vintage card and SCSI accelerator. I don't want to run an expansion chassis but would like to get a video capture card. Since I am out of PCI slots, does anyone know if I can run a video capture card in another MAC and sync it and import it in PT. Any drawbacks/problems if indeed this is possible? Thanks

Default Re: ProTools with Two Computers

The low end video applications like premiere do not read or generate TC. Premiere generates midi click as of V 4.01s. If I am in a pinch, I use premiere on one CPU, print SMPTE on a premiere audio track and use PT/W the opcode studio 4, to read the SMPTE on another CPU. Not nearly as slick and fast as editing audio with a QT movie within the Pro Tools application. I have tried the IAE driver to setup an internal MTC or TC link between PT and Pemiere a no go.....

It is possible 2 CPU's, although,......perhaps a capture on one CPU with a video card, video transfer to PT CPU, import and edit.

There are other ways to go about this, however, I am a bit under the weather at the moment and can't come up with an Einstein...

Anyone have a better way to sync PT to Premiere.....
