Default Damaged Hard Disk

My HD keeps getting damaged when i insert a CD (free sample CD with Future Music) which contains wav files and audio.

I open iTunes, and go to play an audio track and BANG! I get a damaged HD...have to run diskutility first aid sharpish...this keeps happening. I can drag the sample wav files off the CD and use them in PTools, but i am wondering if anyone has any advice? Seems to be a constant problem...

I am using Flat panel iMac 700/ OS9.2.2 /640 ram / Mbox LE 5.2/

Pro Tools is running fine...this is more a mac problem, but i thought some of you guys may have had a similar problem if you have one of these damn iMac's and similar extension settings?

Patient: Doctor, it hurts when I do this...
Doctor: Stop doing that!!
Copy all needed files to your HD, and don't ever put the CD in your mac again....

Maybe the disk utility is not fixing the problem. Try Disk Warrior. Or best bet...do as sean shannon says.
