Default backing up Q's

Just wondering is there any reason why one shouldn't back up session copies to the system drive (the internal that is running PT)?

I have a glyph firewire drive that i use for all sessions & a mac mini that i use solely to run PT.. It seems to me that the mac mini's drive is the perfect place to back up copies to, but will repeated saving of up updated sessions affect the drives ability to run PT smoothly?

I can & will save to a separate Firewire drive to the Glyph anyway, but a 3rd copy on the internal seems wise to me, if the 500gb space is only being used to run PT..

Mac Mini 2013 2.5ghz
OS 10.8.3
Lynx Aurora 16
Pro Tools 10.3.28
RAM 4gig
glyph firewire 800 external drive
