Default Apogee Ensemble & 002/003?

I've been using an RME ADI-8Pro for several years with my 002R (works flawlessly for me). However, Apogee now has a "standalone" mode for the Ensemble and show a picture of it hooked up to an 002R, so I was wondering if anyone has tried it yet? It seems like it would be great solution for someone who uses Logic Pro AND PTLE.
