S6L fiber vs ethercon
Hi,
We're using 150m fibers for connecting the stage rack(s) to the foh-console and we've used ethercon to connect everything else in the system: control surface to engines, mon- engine to stage racks and linking stage racks, so all the short cables. Is there a reason they should be changed to fiber or is everything fine like this? Everything has worked without any glitches but just wanted to check. Ilkka

Re: S6L fiber vs ethercon
I don't think you need to change anything. Fiber is a solution for long distances, otherwise good wire is ok.

Totally fine. A shared media scenario is no problem

Re: S6L fiber vs ethercon
it's A-Okay to use fiber for some portions of the system and ethernet for others, I imagine that in most cases console to engine will be ethernet run, and the run to stage racks may be fiber.
