Default Both Music Production Toolkits on the same ilok?

Hey all

Is it possible to have both Music Production Toolkits (the original and the new "2") on the same ilok? or does the new version overwrite the old one?

I still do a large percentage of my work in PT 7 on an old mac OS (10.4!) and need to keep that toolkit up and running while using PT8.

just double checking before i do anything stupid!

thanks for your time.

hey john

thanks...
anyone else know?

and if it overwrites it on the ilok, does the license written still support the original toolkit?

i've emailed avid as well, but not heard back, oddly...

best

If you're going to pay the $50 to upgrade to version 2, it will overwrite the existing license.

If you're talking about somehow having them separate, the easiest thing to do would be have them on 2 separate Iloks.

ok, thanks for the reply.

but does the new license continue to authorize the original/legacy toolkit i'm running in PT7?

unfortunately, i will need to have access to both PT7 and PT8 in different operating systems for the foreseeable future. it seems like it shouldn't be too big a deal, and is fairly standard practice to maintain some support for (or at least ability to USE) legacy products that you've paid lots of $ for, right?
