Default C24 With 002R LE

Good day everyone -

I have opportunity to put the cart before the horse and purchase a new Control 24 from someone for a price you wouldnt believe.

We weren't expecting to purchase a HD system until next summer, and then purchase the C24, but at the price I can get this for, I cant pass it up.

Will the C24 work with my current setup? 002r, 7.0 LE? I guess the real question is: will it work just as good as with HD?

I know the literature says it will, but I am getting conflicting info from the Guitar Center. One person says it will work seamlessly others say it wont.

Thanks for any input.

What is your configuration? Are you using the C24 as just a controller or as an interface as well?

Thanks,

Craig

I'm using it as a controller and the built in pres for vocals. I got a small 2 mic setup. not much hooked up to it at all. I did buy a Berringer PowerPlay Pro-8 Hedphone Amp and a Berringer Ultragain Pro 8 Digital A/D & D/A Converter for an extra 8 Anolog inputs (hooked up to the 002r via Digital Cable). I use that to to hook up MPC's and other productuin hardware, also for easy access. If I had to do more than that(like live recording drums, etc), I would invest in another pre amp like the Avalon.

You'll have to buy some Digi Snake Cables to hook your C24 up to the 002r and Monitors. (3 Sets) 1 DB25-to-XLR and 2 DB25-to-TRS

Thanks for all you advise. I have more questions:

1. Why didnt you hook your MPC's directly to the C24 inputs and run them to your 002r?
2. Where did you get your cables?

Thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.

I too am using a C|24 with 002R, and a Presonus Digimax via lightpie for tracks 9-16- All in all so good so far, aside from the apparent lack of future support for the C|24 (lot's O buttons that don't do anything... and probably never will)-
Getting the headphone set-up for studio monitoring takes some effort,
...and you cannot solo/mute one output without affecting all ( a disappoinment).
Bypassing the bulit-in Focusrite pres is a pain (channels 5 - 8 on the 002) if you use a tube pre, so as to avoid multi gain stages)
and the direct outs seem quite noisy (I have a Fostex G-16 which I now go directly to when using)... probably the Focusrite preamps....

but that is a killer deal!!!
